papen was a girl in my mind...

it was really great. but if i could, i would have had charles lose the gun in a struggle; it goes off severing richard's femoral artery. henry comes up with it and immediately plugs francis in the gut and in the neck. charles and henry talk about it; charles admits to sleeping with his sister but camilla seems detached. Richard is bleeding slowly to death. Then henry, to doubly spite charles, puts two in camilla and then the last one for himself. Charles, stark mental, strangles the rest of richard, seals himself in the garage with the running sedan and slips away on monoxide.

but the way she had it happen was really great too.

Sometimes I go on your blog and do not know what you are talking about. But that's what brings me back. Please don't tell me or let me in on it. I need to figure this out on my own. Like when I read Naked Lunch when I was 13 or watched THX 1138 on my little black & white Zenith at the age of 11. Or now when I open the Business section of the newsapaper and go to the page that has all the different ticker style names and numbers of companies on the stockmarket with all those little numbers. I don't know what they mean but I stare at them and get this fucked up feeling like a junk high.
Keep it up......motherfucker.

smartin, sometimes i go on this blog and i have no idea either. THX1138 sucked. And so did Naked Lunch. I preferred Gone with the Wind and The Great Space Coaster when I was 11.

Then I discovered I loved books about dogs that rescued their masters from near-certain death in the Klondike. Call of the Wild, a slew of Jim Kjelgaard books like Big Red and Outlaw Red: Son of Big Red. Then I branched out to incorporate more of the animal kingdom. Some notables being A Wolf Named King, Ralph S. Mouse, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh, Jason's Quest etc...

Really, to this day I perfer talking animals to human protagonists.

Well CB, I loved THX1138 because I wanted to live in those all white top to bottom rooms. All night and day beautiful void. And Naked Lunch, well that just fucked me up and made me question my sexuality and sanity. All that other stuff at the time just made me sick. You know, beginngs-middles and endings.
Sure, people died and all that but you could see it coming 10 miles away and you couldn't wait for it to end. Required reading for kids should be: Miller,Burroughs,Crowley,Wilde,JG Ballard and maybe a little Jack London....he was a crafty bastard.
See you at at the Dark Carnival, Motherfucker.
P.S. Books about Dogs? Fuck you. Go get one.

who needs a dog when i've got you to kick around?

loving THX because of the decor is like loving the news because you want to wear the anchor's tie.

but i do agree with your reading list. of course, you leave out all the true classics that i enjoyed, treasure island, crusoe, cue for treason. enid blyghton. sweet valley romance. hardy boys. Ivanhoe. and on.

dark carnvial. those words still send a chill through my bag.
